ENJOY LIVING IN YOUR BODY!

Bodywork is a great way to improve one’s overall energy, mood and mindset!

Your session and experience is tailored to what you need. It can vary from gentle techniques – used to provide relaxation and rejuvenation, all the way to therapeutic techniques – where the focus is activating, stretching and releasing the deeper layers of muscle tissue.

By combining various styles of massage, your specific need is addressed on the day of your session.

Techniques used include Muscle Balancing, Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Soft Tissue Release, Myotherapy, Shiatsu, Lymphatic Drainage.

You will be in the capable and caring hands of a long-established mobile massage therapist. I have been practicing massage therapy and bodywork full time since 2002, with an average of 1000 hours of massage provided each year.

I’ll meet you where you’re at! Your sessions will be in the comfort of your own home or office!

I’m looking forward to connecting with you!

What to Expect During a Massage

Where will my massage session take place?
Your massage session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room. Soft music may be played to help you relax. You will lie on a table especially designed for your comfort.

Must I be completely undressed?
Most massage techniques are performed with the client unclothed; however, you may decide what amount of clothing you prefer to wear for your own comfort.

Will the therapist be present when I disrobe?
The therapist will leave the room while you undress, relax onto the table and cover yourself with a clean sheet.

Will I be covered during the session?
You will be properly draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed.

What parts of my body will be massaged?
You and the therapist will discuss the desired outcome of your session. This will determine which parts of your body require massage. A session may include work on your back, arms, legs, feet, hands, head, neck, and shoulders. You will not be touched on or near your genitals (male or female) or breasts (female).

Will lubricant be used?
A light oil or lotion may be used to permit your muscles to be worked on without causing excessive friction to the skin. The oils used should hydrate the skin and be readily absorbed.

What will the massage feel like?
It depends on the techniques used. In a general Swedish American massage, your session may start with broad flowing strokes that will help to calm your nervous system and relax exterior muscle tension. As our body becomes relaxed, pressure will gradually be increased to relax specific areas and relieve areas of muscular tension. You should communicate immediately if you feel any discomfort so that another approach may be taken. Massage is most effective when your body is not resisting.

What should I do during the massage session?
Make yourself comfortable. The therapist will either gently move you or tell you what is needed throughout the session (such as lifting your arm). Many people just close their eyes and completely relax. Others like to talk during their massage. Feel free to talk or ask questions about massage and bodywork in general or about the particular technique you are receiving.

How to Enhance Your Treatment Experience
  • You’ll feel more comfortable if you don’t eat for two hours before your session.
  • Draping will be employed for traditional oil massage. For other therapies wear loose fitting comfortable clothing.
  • Let your therapist know if you have any medical or physical conditions which might contraindicate certain types of treatment.
  • Remove any unnecessary jewelry that could cause scratching or interfere with having a smooth massage.
  • If you wear glasses or contact lenses, consider removing them. It may add to your relaxing experience.
  • If you’re concerned about getting oil on your hair, inform your therapist. You won’t want to miss out on a scalp massage!
  • Quieting yourself will allow you to tune in to your experience and relax more deeply.
  • Do give your therapist feedback regarding your experience and feel free to ask any questions you’d like.
  • Breathe deeply and regularly, stressing your exhalation. Imagine your body becoming heavy and sinking into the table or mat.
  • As the therapist locates areas of tension, consciously allow yourself to breath and relax into those areas.
  • Sometimes during a massage or other type of treatment emotions will surface. It may be of great benefit to release and work through them if you feel comfortable doing so.
